the notwist are one of my favorite bands historically, and im so glad they have a new cd. its probably not as good as neon golden but its pretty good. they dont sound that different, especially how long it took them to make a new cd.

the notwist - gloomy planets (speedyshare)

i like the bridge, or whatever its called when its just guitar and singing. its just a pretty song, and the whole “blame it on the ____” thing is nice. this is one of the more stripped down songs, and it sounds like yo la tengo a little bit, when you think about it.

this is an old video of theirs (the notwist) in case youre not familiar. one of their better songs, for sure. all the youtube comments are “best german band!” but i can’t think of any others so why not.

mystery jets - two doors down (speedyshare)

for a song and video sooo good their cd sucks otherwise. maybe its that i saw the video first and thought they were going to be like 80s revival, but i think its more of a one-off and theyre just a regular band :-/

i really like this song though

actually i just remembered i have a couple remixes of them too, a justice one and a shoes one, and they don’t really make them good. theres a new futureheads cd coming sometime, and they’re kind of similar, so probably wait for that instead if youre going to buy any british music ok
